谁是博士?. 罗伯特·诺伊斯?

Dr. 罗伯特·诺伊斯, nicknamed “the Mayor of Silicon Valley”, was an American physicist and entrepreneur who co-founded Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957 and Intel Corporation in 1968. He is credited as one of the co-inventors of the integrated circuit (the microchip) that prompted the development of personal computers. The 罗伯特·诺伊斯 Teacher 学者hip Program falls under the auspices of the 国家科学基金会 (NSF).

  • Recruit and graduate diverse mathematics and science educators responsive to the needs of underrepresented communities through highly effective, 基于探究的, 综合STEM教学.

  • Utilizing ongoing mixed methods research, develop and test effective recruitment and graduation strategies focused on increasing the percentage of underrepresented students majoring in STEM fields who enter the teaching profession

项目要求

  1. Be working towards or have completed an undergraduate STEM major (mathematics, 生物学, 化学, 物理, environmental science) or post-bac
  2. Intend to complete the requirements of the secondary math or science teacher licensure program at 密歇根州立大学丹佛 教育学院
  3. Demonstrate a commitment to pursue a teaching career in a public school district for one year per semester of scholarship awarded
  4. 做一个U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident (everyone is encouraged to apply!)
  5. Maintain a minimum content GPA of 2.75

  7. Attend core required events (orientation, recognition dinner, near peer observations, etc.)
